My Perfect Brother-In-Law by Cristina Hodgson*

I had totally intended on posting this way earlier than now, but trying to read with a grumpy baby isn’t all that easy. Anyway, here we are and today I have a review of Cristina Hodgsons new book ‘My Perfect Brother-In-Law’ which Cristina kindly gifted to me in e-book form in exchange for an honest review on my blog.

IMG_1922I wanted to get this post up in January but I’ve only just managed to finish the book this weekend. This is the fourth book I’ve read of Cristina’s and it didn’t disappoint.

Online dating by proxy. No one would know, right?
Zara isn’t looking for love. She already has that covered—Nigel is her perfect husband. All she needs to do now is find the perfect man for her twin sister Emmy, too. To protect her sister (and surprise her), Zara throws herself into online dating with gusto.

Shawn Taylor, undercover detective, returns home on a private assignment. It is the perfect chance to see Zara again and explain why he’d left so suddenly twenty years ago. Ultimately, he is here to protect her. His brief says she is in serious danger.

But something doesn’t add up. Why is Zara going out with scores of men when hubby is out of town? What kind of twisted game is she playing? And why, when the castle of cards collapses in a messy heap, is she standing, wielding a whip, over a villain with an erection the size of the Eiffel Tower and his hands tied behind his back?

Pick up this hilarious rom-com to find out.

I’m a little bit on the fence about the cover, I don’t know if that’s because it’s so pink – I’m not the biggest pink person (unless I’m dressing Mila, because she looks adorable in pink).  I do however love the mens socks. I love that little spark of colour.

I actually really liked how much Zara did for Emmy, the love she has for her sister. Her scheming was a little bit out there and as you’d guess it did get her into a bit of trouble, but that makes for good reading, I enjoyed that it wasn’t all straight down the line.

At the beginning as I was reading Shawn’s chapters I did find he came across very much like a stalker, but it really intrigued me as to what their story was.

I loved that there was an air of mystery and things kept you guessing and wondering what was going to happen next.

At the beginning I didn’t really connect with Zara, I didn’t understand why Zara would go on the dates instead of telling Emmy and letting her go and decide for herself. That kind of put me off at first.

You can get your hands on the book over on Amazon. You can also check out Cristina’s website and goodreads

I hope you’ve enjoyed this review. I’d love to know your thoughts if you’ve read this book.
