My Perfect Brother-In-Law by Cristina Hodgson*

I had totally intended on posting this way earlier than now, but trying to read with a grumpy baby isn’t all that easy. Anyway, here we are and today I have a review of Cristina Hodgsons new book ‘My Perfect Brother-In-Law’ which Cristina kindly gifted to me in e-book form in exchange for an honest review on my blog.

IMG_1922I wanted to get this post up in January but I’ve only just managed to finish the book this weekend. This is the fourth book I’ve read of Cristina’s and it didn’t disappoint.

My Birth Story

I had been planning on writing up this post weeks ago, but it’s not always so easy to just sit down and write these days, so while Rhys is home and Mila is asleep I figured I’d start this post… and hopefully finish it. Apologies now for the amount of rambling that will probably be in this post.

IMG_1842People had been asking if I had a birth plan and I know in some of the books you are given it talks about writing a birth plan to take with you and give to the midwives so they know what you do and don’t want, I’ve also heard plenty of stories of people’s birth plans going completely out of the window so with that in mind I never bothered to write anything down, the only thing I really said is that I’d like to do it on just gas and air and other than that I was pretty easy going.

My Skincare Routine

I’ve never really had much of a skincare routine, If I took my make up off at the end of the day that was a good thing, but recently I’ve been doing a lot more to try and keep my skin better looked after. I have got myself into a little routine which seems to be working, granted I’ve only really been using this routine for a couple of weeks but so far so good.

img_1656Twice a day I use The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Balancing Toner to get all the dirt and grime off my face – I very rarely wear any make up so this just gets rid of the natural dirt which my skin acquires throughout the day. It’s really kind to your skin, it’s not too harsh but it really does pick up any excess on your skin. It’s a little bit gross really to see how much dirt rests on your skin just from going about your day.

Happy New Year, 2019 Goals

A lot of people are saying how quickly 2018 went by, but for me I was pregnant for most of it and it was the longest 8 months of my life, Its flown by since Mila has been born but the pregnancy itself made last year so long for me.

img_1328I have had this blank page open for days but between not knowing what goals I want to set myself and a screaming baby this page has remained blank but if I leave it any longer then I’ll never get around to writing it.

Christmas Party Make Up

I had every intention of creating an actual Christmas party look for this post, but as you are reading this my baby will be a couple of weeks old, so I never really got the chance to sit and play around with my make up, so you’ll have to make do with my make up choices in palette form. Maybe next year when I have more time I can get some actual looks together.

So I’m narrowing this down to eyes, cheeks and lips because, well basically I don’t have that much of an extensive make up collection (although I would love to have more choice). So I think I’m going to choose two for each which I think would be great to create some festive looks this year.

It’s A Wonderful Life by Jaimie Admans*

Firstly, apologies to both Jenny and Jaimie for the super late post, had a very fussy baby today and haven’t had time to schedule the post in advance.

For over a year now I have had the pleasure of reviewing books as a part of Jenny’s Neverland Book Tours. I have loved being apart of these tours and come across some great books along the way but a couple of months ago she decided to close down her business and focus more on her blog but she has said she will still do the occasional tour. It's a Wonderful Night-large

Georgia Bailey is closing up her little charity shop in Oakbarrow when she gets a mysterious late night call from a stranger, threatening to jump off the town’s bridge.

Something about the man’s voice is faintly familiar but all she can do is stay on the line and, after talking for hours and losing sense of time passing, coax him back from the edge.

Beauty Advent Calendars

I know for the past 3 months bloggers and vloggers everywhere have been showing off all the latest beauty advent calendars and as much as I would have loved to have joined in, 1. I can’t really afford to buy more than one (thanks to my nan who actually bought me the M&S one this year) and 2. I really wanted some sort of advent in my blogmas posts.

IMG_0943So I managed to get my hands on the sought after Marks & Spencer advent calendar and the NYX Cosmetics Sugar Trip calendar and although I am going to keep the products for December and open each day in turn I do know what is in both of the calendars, I have watched countless you tubers unbox them.

My Winter Tag

As you are reading this I’m probably sitting on the sofa with a baby watching crap daytime tv. So I’ve spent the past couple of months sorting out all my blogmas posts because I have wanted to join in for years but never had the time. Having a newborn baby who sleeps a lot is actually harder work than you’d think. Getting posts written and photographed (especially with the darker days) isn’t as easy as I first thought it would be.

Day 2So I have been looking through various ‘Winter Tag’ blog posts to put together one of my own, I’m not planning on nominating anyone but anyone is welcome to have a go at these questions. Continue reading

Welcome To Blogmas 2018

Good evening everyone, happy December 1st and welcome to blogmas.

Day 1I had originally planned for today to be an advent calendar post but at the time of writing up these posts I wasn’t entirely sure I’d be able to get my hands on one in time to get a post done so I figured I would use today as more of an introduction post about what posts you can expect to see over the coming weeks.
